Alex Miller
Employee Benefits Specialist
Email: Alex@schueler.ca
Alex was born in Winnipeg and raised in Mississauga. He moved to Kelowna in 2005 and has called our city home ever since. In his free time, you can find Alex coaching his kids’ soccer teams and driving them all over the province for games. He also enjoys cooking, stand-up comedy and terrible movies from the 80s and 90s.
Alex has been an entrepreneur since he was a child, launching his first business at age six, selling dirt (that he and his friends up in their local park) to their neighbours to use in their gardens. The business didn’t last long, with his mother shutting it down after explaining that you can’t dig up local parks.
Since moving to Kelowna, Alex has run and/or owned a variety of businesses including: managing retirement homes, building a television production company from scratch, and running a tech company. While Alex only recently started working with Schueler Group Benefits, he has been a client since 2007 and has purchased benefits through us for three different businesses.
Not only does Alex specialize in group benefits, but he also helps business owners with their other insurance needs such as: life insurance to fund buy-sell agreements, protecting their business with critical illness and/or disability insurance to cover overhead expenses, and permanent life insurance for tax advantaged retirement planning.
Alex has been an active member of the Kelowna community. He has been the city’s top fundraiser for Movember and Motionball (Special Olympics), as well as being the President of the local chapter of Junior Chamber International, a founding member of The Valhalla Angels, and an entrepreneur-in-residence with UBC’s Entrepreneurship@UBCO program.
